While sand casting is a centuries-old process, it continues to be one of the most cost-effective ways to produce aluminum, brass, bronze, and ferrous parts. The key to producing a successful sand casting is in the design of the pattern and the choice of material. At HFM, our engineers work collaboratively with our clients to ensure the pattern and composition of the desired part not only meets, but exceeds expectations.
HFM provides engineering services to both established and potential customers. HFM will assist in the design of a component from the rough conceptual stage to the final production and assembly (if required). Our engineers evaluate the manufacturability of each sand casting to ensure optimum performance and cost effective production.
To ensure customer satisfaction, HFM will produce rapid prototypes to confirm specifications and design. Prototypes are created using Stereolithography and Fused-Deposition Modeling equipment.
HFM utilizes SolidWorks software to produce and “read” solid model files in the native SolidWorks format and in STEP, STL, and SolidIGES format. HFM uses AutoCAD software to open drawing files in DWG and DXF formats. EdgeCAM and CamWorks software is used to develop CNC machine code to machine castings, bar stock, and molds/coreboxes.
